Plot involves some kids finding a bottomless hole in their basement. Out of the hole comes their worst fears (literally).
I really like Joe Dante. Gremlins 1 & 2 are classics, Small Soldiers was a creative action film and I thought even Looney Tunes Back in Action was a lot better than it was given credit for, lots of nicely subversive gags (Shaggy chewing out Matthew Lillard over his performance, Speedy Gonzales being depressed that he's no longer PC), it was largely spoilt by Steve Martin showing he can't even do hammy comic roles now.
