Final Fantasy I

[Grapple Convoy]

So, to someone like myself who has only experienced the later FF games*, yet wants to experience the legendary original, what's the best way to play? Are any of the remakes "authentic" enough?

(Oh, and which team line-up would be good for beginners?)

* As in, err, FF IV and FF VI.

A bit of a warning in advance though...

It's really not very good due to being badly dated now. I'd definately recommend giving it a go to see how the series started off though.

I'd go for the translation hack of FF3 personally. The first two are rather dated now, regardless of the platform they're played on.
