The most aesthetically pleasing cartridge size and shape

One of the more lamentable aspects of home consoles these days in my opinion is that all the storage media are visually all the same. A DVD, CD and Blu Ray disk all look identical.

In the last year or so I've picked up a few consoles I'd never owned before and one of the most enjoyable things was seeing the shapes and sizes of the carts.

Which one do you think is the most aesthetically pleasing?

Although I was impressed with the Neo Geo pocket carts when I first saw them, nothing comes close to the fabulous credit-cart inspired (presumably) Hu cards of the PC Engine.

Dislike - the Super Famicom carts, much as I enjoy playing the games - not a patch on the Megadrive ones. Oh, and the Lynx ones too.

I really loved loved the Hyper NeoGeo 64 carts. Very cool brushed aluminum casing.

Give me a hu-card over a cart anyday! That's how it all should have been!

Those Cube discs are very sweet though. And they make nice earrings.

Cool. I've never won anything in my life apart from a couple of "Who can get off with the ugliest bird?" contests in ****ty night clubs.

            This is a step up.

I loved the EA Megadrive carts. Because they had yellow bits.

I'd say either the PC Engine HuCards or the Super Famicom carts. Both things of beauty.

Another vote for HuCARDS and followed closely by the Japanese Mega Drive carts.

Japanese Super Famicom Carts are cool.

Neo Geo carts are tough looking muthas.

                    PC-Engine Hu-Cards are very chic.

Japanese MD carts are sort of gothic imo.

I think Western NES carts are boring. Master System are the same.

I'll go with Japanese Super Famicom Carts.

I like the solidity in feeling of the N64 carts.

You wouldn't believe the number of people I knew who had got it into their heads that the yellow bit wasn't just a bit of plastic - oh no, it was the battery for the battery backup.....

                            What was it about anyway?

Just EA stamping their name on it? Like the stupid big Saturn boxes that only they used?

Obviously, the HuCard is a thing of great beauty but I also love the 'feel' of N64 carts - they're massively heavy (compared to most other carts) and it kind of made the games feel really special because of the weight. If that makes sense (??!!)

Master System card games are also pretty neat.
