It seems the the earlier reports were wrong:
Sony has just told CVG that WipEout 2097 will not be arriving on the PlayStation Store in this Thursday's update, as had been confirmed earlier today.
The classic PSone racer has been delayed, and to soften the blow Sony is instead adding Syphon Filter to the update, a mint third-person action game. Sony did not specify the reason for the delay.
Also launching in the Store for PSone fans is Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage and Medievil.
You'll also be able to download the GT 5 Prologue video that was shown at E3, and as we reported yesterday, a playable demo of Heavenly Sword.
Contrary to internet reports, a Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction demo will not be appearing this Thursday, but rather a trailer of the game instead.
According th ThreeSpeech WipEout 2097 has been but on hold until the end of August...Last edited by JP; 24-07-2007, 12:21.

I really wish we could have the option to view the JP Store in English as we're probably missing out on some really good stuff like this.
