No they dont - it's just the misguided way arcades are run here. When I was at Sega they priced games so high that they didnt make any money then got rid of them for that reason. For example when Segaworld opened Daytona was ?2.50 a go - nobody touched it. When the dickheads were persuaded to change it to ?1 a go it was the higest earning machine there (only overtaken when DDR came out)
Same with beat em ups - they used to charge ?1 a go at Sega and 50p everywhere else, and they used to wonder why nobody touched their VF3s...
Gun games like House of the Dead and Virtua Cop should be 50p a go - that way new players are not put off by the high difficulty and are encouraged to use continue if they die (losing a quid in under a minute of play will put off most people)

Yea, i should make the trip to london sometime, and play some newer games, i only ever get to play crazy taxi, sega rally, daytona usa and virtua tennis in sunderland (i think the owner must like sega too!)

They couldnt care less - I was sitting next to the guy that runs Casino on the plane when I went to that last show in Spain. Nice guy but no knowledge of games at all, they could make so much more money if they sorted their cabs out. For example their VF4 machine is near unplayable as the convergence on the monitor is out by MILES and the joysticks totally wrong for the game (and it's NOT EVO X_X)
How expensive can it be to order some Sanwa sticks and sort the screens out? (sorting the screens doesnt cost anything other than 10 minutes of someone's time)

The prices at Namco Station at Trafford Centre are seriously ****ed up.

Everything is ?1 a go. The only execptions are Soul Calibur 2, Tekken 4 and (I think) Virtua Striker 3.

Even Virtua Tennis 2 is ?1 which is seriously messed up.

Only joking - it's Casino near Goodge Street station who have it for ?1 = 2 credits. They havent connected the rear speakers tho and wont despite being asked because they smoke Godzilla willy (infact they dont clean, fix or maintain ANY of their machines at all)

So we can discount Namco, Trocadero and i know one of the arcades in china town charge ?1 so its not that one....

And it makes me so happy that people that suck such large quantities of member hate me so much! ^^

That leaves Casino (sucks major jaji but good for meeting up with people), Colindale (reeks but it's close to good shops) and Namco (which just sucks jaji and loves it)
