Sky + and 5.1 Surround Sound

After a bit of advice please guys.

If I record a Movie onto my Sky + Box which has 5.1 DD Sound, will this then play back DD 5.1 when I come to watch it at a later date.

Sorry to sound dumb, new to this Sky + malarkey ;-)

It sure will as long as you have it connected via a optical cable and the relevent gear etc. I've had sky+ for a couple of months now and it's great, all channels sound better via the optical connection and the films broadcast in Dolby Digital are icing on a very fruity cake 8)

I am going to upgrade to Sky+ inj the next couple of days and have a question about connecting up my denon amp.Do I just need a digital optical cable or do I still need to hook up my stereo leeds as well?

Just the opticial cable.

Don't forget to go into the options/sound menu to turn on dolby digitial output.
