Amazon Producing TV series based upon Iain M Banks "Culture" Novels

Hot off the heels of Netflix's Alterered Carbon adaptation, Amazon has confirmed that it will be producing a series based up the Culture Series of Books.

Set thousands of years in the future, where technology has reached a point where resources are essentially limitless, everybody lives on giant AI spaceships with everything they ever need taken care of. These AI float around the universe doing as please being in comprehensively intelligent to the point of being gods (they are so powerful some of them actually simulate universes in their spare time). The inhabitants have access to this immense technology and as a result anything is possible.
However like any good space opera, the Culture isn't the only civilization, there are others too (even other civilizations run by AI that have left "The Culture"), but the universe is a big place.

The books themselves are most unrelated from one another, but are all set in the same universe.

If you aren't aware of the series, in the videogame sphere it is probably most famous as having been what Halo knocked off. The games and in particular the early Halo books are very heavily inspired by the novels, not only is is super obvious when you read them, but Bungie themselves have said so.
