I think the consistency of Hayter was a good thing, he has a cool, reliable voice and he kept the franchise grounded.

I think they replaced Ironside in the later Splinter Cell games. I think that's what subconsciously put me off playing them.

You get to *know* a character, Hayter WAS Solid Snake, Ironside WAS Sam Fisher. It set the mood, you went with it.

Kiefer Sutherland probs best choice tho. It could've been Kevin Keegan, God rest his soul.

He’s turned into a complete hack, who in the space of a single game went from my favourite video game auteur, to complete Hollywood chasing chump.

Hayters firing pulled the curtain back a bit and saw what type of guy Kojima has become ... up his arse, frankly. Misunderstanding/not caring about the impact of losing Hayter, and the subsequent bull**** spouted as listed in that article, really made me think less of him.

Also, MGSV was ****. I hate open world games, and the games mission structure/lack of bosses/lack of story/lack of variety/boredom
Inducing long runs across an empty space with nowt to do really soured me. Completely felt like a different game.

So, if you please, what's the scoop on this chap and how did he come up with the whole MGS concept?
1.) Hideo Kojima Hates Being Called "Kojima-San"
2.) Hal "Otacon" Emmerich is named after Kojima's favorite film director, Roland Emmerich
3.) Hideo Kojima is friends with the Wachowski Siblings
4.) Solid Snake was inspired by Snake Plissken from John Carpenter's Escape From New York
5.) Hideo Kojima tries to watch one movie per day
6.) Big Boss canonically believes in Santa Claus
7.) Kojima is a recruitable character in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker
8.) Kojima's 70-yr-old mother played completely through Metal Gear Solid 3.
9.) Every single soldier has a unique appearance in Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes
10.) Kojima is friends with Japanese model/porn star Minako Komukai
            Stolen from here

I was also disappointed when Hayter was replaced. The man's Guyver, for heaven's sake!

The whole Hayter Hating thing really seems so weird as that voice was Snake so perfectly and for so long and to dick him around like that is just wack. Can't imagine how jarring it will be to get to the fifth chapter and see that he's gone.

I only sped through the first 3 just now to get to 4 as it looked so good. I'd got a copy of it with my PS3 and played about half an hour of it before realizing it was making even less sense than I expected and restarting it now and seeing Snake at the graveside carries pathos this time.

              RIP Kevin Keegan

Mgsv is one of the greatest games ever made.

I'm still a bit stunned at how good 3 was. You know those post game blues when you clock a game and realize wistfully that you could try and force it or just move onto the next one because the magic is the first time. Yeah.

Last game to do that was Persona 4 Golden. What an experience that was.

Painfully wrong. I really don’t understand how people think this. It’s so bland and boring

I was more referencing Kojima than MGSV. Not that the game does much for me from what I've played.

Not really. Obviously what I posted was just an opinion too. I just think a response of "I found it bland and boring" would have been a bit better and less confrontational than you're wrong and I don't understand how people can think otherwise.

                                Gusto in the hid-ouse!!!!!

I look forward to trying out MGSV's open world because I just belatedly bought an Xbone. I wanna see how 'next gen' it looks and lustre over the dust and shadow and shiny effects (extra marks for 'convincing, furry tweed effect').

It's only a sad old videogame and I really don't think fisticuffs are in order...

                                BUT...

Odds on for Kirov to win, I reckon he's built like a Mirelurk, VATS would go crazy on this one, it's like Mcgregor V Mayweather.
