I might just do optionals, SOS, then look for tracks whilst randoms are doing the quest

So one of my friends has decided that he wants to be a bow player all of a sudden. I've tried to explain to him that bow is a specialised style and needs a lot of planning. He doesn't seem to care about that, only that he has the Archer's Dance III, which not only is far from a beginners bow, is not for general use and he only got because it can be forged from the smithy without going through a lot of the tree. He has no idea about how anything in the game works and isn't even rocking a charm.
We get into a hunt and he dies three times before I've managed to break anything due to him not being able to take the aggro off of me. We don't need a second bow user anyway. This game is all about learning, and he doesn't want to learn so he won't be hunting with me again. Jaja.Kept you waiting, huh?

If I was using dual blades I could just go to town.
I know the elders now like the back of my hand, to the point it’s easier solo.
I fitted a gem to my gear last night that boosts dmg of none elemental weapons, well worth it. Had no idea that you can get gems that give boosts that only normally come from set bonuses.

My advice is find the clues, leave the expedition, go to a new location and repeat until they say you can stop.
Otherwise you get lured into doing stuff, as is the MH:W way!
"Just one more gourmet mushroom and I'll finish up. Ooh a Rathian!"

In-game comms. My tag flashed up every time I spoke, so I know it was working.
I always prefer to talk, if possible.
Probably for the best last night as I was effin' and a jeffin' at dying so much.

Had a bit of a binge today; finished my Odogaron set, got the first line of Nergigante weapon, and then ploughed through the terrible trio and the last boss. Jumped straight to HR 29, beat the quest to unlock that too, so now I'm at 33 and beginning the slog up to 49. Still loving the game immeasurably. Been cleaning out some LR quests too, which gave me this unintended speed kill on a poor unassuming Tobi-Kadachi...
