These games have already been mentioned but other samples:

"Welcome to the fantasy zone" - Space Harrier

"Oowoooah" - Hagger's lariat punch from Final Fight

And one that hasn't been mentioned yet that is burned in my mind:

"Warning, warning, destruction imminent" - Alien Breed '92

There really is only one for me... "Another visitor. Stay awhile. Staaaaaaaay forever!"
Lie with passion and be forever damned...

Has to be my favourite speech sample, didn't have an Amiga & was so gutted it didn't make it to the MD port!

I will always remember this speech in Strider: "You dare fight me!"

And Axelay's: "Arms installation is complete. Good Luck!"

Advanced Pinball Simulator on the old Amstrad CPC - the title screen gives a very english sample of the name of the game.

                  Strider had some great speech...

"Hmm it's Strider Hiryu, he will never leave Eurasia alive"

                  and

                  "All son's of old gods...die"

                  Love it!

Yeah, it's another reason why the game grabbed people's attention. It was always cool when developers went the extra mile and put really memorable stuff in their games.

                      Haha, that Magician Lord script!

                      "I'm destined just to die."

"Your are very dangerous. Be dead down here."

"You dare to rise against me? The human era is over. The mutant era has come!"

A final boss intro that let you know that you were about to get your sh1t thoroughly pushed back.

"You are beaten! Magneto is supreme!"

I think the first Strider game managed to capture the futuristic Soviet aesthetic more so than any of the sequels and reboots. There was something about the speech and the design that made you believe that the USSR had lingered on into the future. As messy as it might play it's still a brilliant game in this regard.

The NES version had really amazing speech iirc.
