no audio/video on Dreamcast

i've just powered up my DC after 6 years after buying another copy of Soul Calibur but sadly there is no output at all - anyone else experienced this? I imagine the AV lead is broken.

or could the DC be faulty?

Could be a blown fuse on the power supply. Could be that the PSU no longer has a solid connection with the motherboard. Could be that you have a dodgy AV cable.

I'd crack it open and have a poke around myself.

What signs of life does it show?

If you have one of the cheaper VGA leads the metal part gets pushed into the plastic housing sometimes causing a bad connection.

What type of output lead are you using, VGA, RGB, composite?

chaps, its the tv's fault! tried it on an older tv and it works fine, the legend will never die!
