How about a part of the music creation process that can be fiddled to sound like something from gaming? For example, here are some (mostly MD-themed):

- Phonic the Hedgehog.

- Polyphonic the Hedgehog.

- Flanger-X (Ranger-X, Megadrive)

- Ableton's Odyssey

- Castle of Illusion starring MIDI Mouse

- Echo the Dolphin

- Virtual DJ Boy

I'm gonna learn to make music just so I can call myself Keep The Groovin' so that one's taken, I'm afraid. If I were you, I'd go for something a bit more well-known if possible. Terrible sounds to me like reverse psychology, that you expect the listener to think the beat is terrible but you don't really believe it which makes you cocky and therefore your beat is terrible
