Any racing games from the 80s still good?

As title - any suggestions for racing games from the 80s which are still fun to play?

Super RC Pro Am and Outrun are a given.

What about Rad Racer? It's in 3D! And that can't be a cheap gimmick, otherwise it would never have become popular again.

Enduro on the 2600 was OK last time I played it. Rad Racer / Highway Star too. Road Blasters was in Retro Gamer recently, I've not played it but it looked good.

I love Super RC Pro Am
I still need to get another copy for the Gameboy

RC Grand Prix for the Master system is fantastic too, almost worth buying a Master System for IMO

What about Ivan "Ironman" Stewart's Super Off Road?
One of my fave all time top down arcade racers

Not sure if you'd count this as it was 1990 but Lotus Espirit Challenge on the Amiga

Turbo Espirit on the speccy was pretty impressive as well

Then obviously there's Outrun & Turbo Outrun

The conversion of Buggy Boy on the C64 is arguably better than the arcade, if you want to call that a racer.

Hang-On and Super Hang-On are decent enough for the odd play now and again.

There must have been a version of Super Sprint from the 80's, maybe?

I was also going to say Jaguar XJ220, but see that wasn't out until 1992.

                      Turbo Charge
                      (both C64 games)

Super Sprint was an immensely fun game! Its similar to Super Off Road, but with racing. Super Sprint Championship edition on the C64 had a track editor which provided hours of fun for me back in the day...

Test Drive 2 on the C64 was also fun... Oh, and the classic spy hunter!

Yes Spy Hunter on the Spectrum, how could we all miss that one.

Dozen or so other popular Spectrum racing games covered in this video
