Super Monaco GP (Arcade is 1989, Megadrive 1990)

Or Chase HQ? I haven't played in years but I remember enjoying it. Not strictly racing, though.

        Still plenty!

        Super Cycle C64

        Turbo Racing NES

Super Stuntman is still ace although not a racing game as such.

This handling and feeling of fighting with a heavy vehicle was and is still amazing. Incredibly achievement back then!

Amazing to watch that in action, such a difficult game when I was a kid.

People will say the Amiga version is better of SCR, but the C64 version was an incredible achievement imo.

I think the ST version runs slightly faster.

Arcades: OutRun; Super Hang-On; Power Drift; Turbo(early SEGA racer); Continental Circus; Badlands(cool Max Max version of Super Sprint); LED Storm(unusual Capcom racing sort of game).

Enduro for the Atari 2600 is worth playing.

Stunt Car Racer - The New Tracks is also great.
