Another year of games releases is about to begin, it's going to be a stretch for me meeting my target of spending less in the coming year than I have in the previous ones. I had a great amount of improvement with the last thread thanks to a greater focus on trading but with new consoles on the horizon and a slew of releases this is going to be a tough one. To keep things easier I'm going to do a monthly total update rather than a running log of every purchase this time. Who's up for doing the 2013 Spend log?

I'll give this another bash. The bulk of my NEO-GEO and PC-Engine collections are now done and dusted, so it shouldn't be mental like last year. Better buy that 360 tomorrow though so that it doesn't count toward 2013............

I made a decision to not buy any next gen consoles and to focus my gaming on PC this year and also to go through the pretty substantial back catalogue I have. With this in mind, I expect to spend no more than ?500 for the whole year.

Im going to try and stick to posting in here next year. I thought 2012 was an expensive year, 2013 could be insane with so many good games on the horizon plus more new hardware next Xmas

I think I'll give this go in 2013. Then I can look back and realise there was a good reason I had Charles cut off my access to the trading forums in 2011!

With new systems on the horizon plus so much "home brew" for the DC and Neo Geo it could be an expensive year. If NGDevTeam add a Yoko option into Neo XYX MVS I may uncancel my order.

Played a lot of games in 2012 but only listed stuff I actually paid for. Due to presents/vouchers and some judicious trade-ins I kept my actual spends very modest, at a little over ?300. Never being an 'early adopter' for hardware, and having had enough of the 'day one' nonsense, I intend to do likewise or better this year. The backlog will help too.
