One of the best hori-shmups I've played in years, and it's not even Japanese developed, it's Hungarian! Good solid mechanics, interesting diversity in terms of weapons/powers/levels, lovely visuals, and a legitimately excellent story. So good, I wish more shmups had detailed stories.

Any game that allows you to go into someone else's world and built a massive jizzing cock, is the Weiner of this award.

Things like Journey, Asura's Wrath and Kid Ic were also great.

Street Fighter X Tekken and Dishonored added to the list now.

Monster Hunter Tri G of course, followed by Rune Factory 4. Expecting Animal Crossing 3DS to take over the no.2 position in a few weeks, with Project Cross Zone in a close third.

Resident Evil 6 will certainly fall into a game of the year category. But which one?

Probably Binary Domain, been a poor year for new releases.

Will also add Lollipop Chainsaw, most fun game I have played in a long time.

Walking Dead for me.

I know it's fundamentally a point & click adventure but some of the emotional hits this game dishes out rivals stuff I've even felt from films.

Add Borderlands 2. Best co-op I've ever played coupled with the best humour. Gearbox did practically everything right.
