    Banjo Kazooie Spiritual Successor

    http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/20...tual-successor

Ex-members of Rare are planning to make a spiritual follow up to Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie. The new game would be a 3D platformer which is similar in style but not connected to the Bear and Bird series that Rare still owns. It would however retain the stylings and googly eyes.

Amongst the team are the series composer and artist and the project could end up being a Kickstarter project. There's no formats mentioned but Unity is being considered which could make it easy to put the game on WiiU

Ugh, I saw the title and got my hopes way too far up. Admittedly I have only played the first game but loved every second of it. I played the Nuts & Bolts demo but didn't like the direction they took with that one.

Even if they remade the first game with better Graphics and updated the gameplay and added some new worlds I would be happy and I am sure it would allow countless more to enjoy the game again as I doubt anyone searches the Xbox Live for it!

What was the Banjo Tooie like, just as good as the original?

It's decent but not as good, features bigger play areas but became pretty convoluted with the heavy focus on collecting items which dragged it down.

Nuts and Bolts is one of my favourite games this generation. Underrated gem, even if it isn't a platform game like the others

    Very welcome news!

It's not like we've been drowning in good 3D platformers in recent years. Really glad that the original composer is on board too - the first had some of my favourite music on the 64!

Agreed. It's different, but just as good. I personally think it's the game which has shown the biggest gameplay innovation made possible by our consoles this generation.

Maybe I'll have to give Nuts and Bolts another shot, if I can find it cheap anywhere that is! That is disappointing to hear about Tooie too. Is it worth the m$ points?

Nuts and bolts can often be had for £5
