FIFA 13 review
Ok this is fantastic.
Theres no realy big additions to the gameplay this year(that I have noticed), but it does make some improvements. The defending is similar to last year but those that had trouble with it will be pleased to know that the A.I. is a lot more helpful this time out, but youre still required to be on your toes, I think the balance seems pretty good.
The gameplay is also faster and more intense, its still pretty realistic, but its just that more exciting and attacking play feels even more satisfying this year, again the A.I. seems improved, the players you arent controlling move off the ball with more intellegence, Ive only played a few hours so am really still getting adjusted to the slightly altered pace of the action (and altering my style of play slightly now Man U have Van Persie up front), but even now Im pulling off some very impressive attacking moves.
Theres also a new points system where when you level up your profile you dont simply go up a rank, you get to buy unlockables with the points. Your points are carried over from the last game, this means that anyone whos played the last game alot and is already at a high level with have loads of points to spend as soon as they begin.
Other changes are mostly asthetic, such as new menus and the usual slight visual upgrade that we get every year from the series. Theres also an overload of information being thrown at you the whole time you play this, such someone attempting to imitate that incredibly dry fella who reads out the results once all the games have ended on Soccer Saturday. Also while youre playing a game in career mode, Alan Mcanally will somtimes pop up and give you scores from the other games that are being played... or well he will tell you someone has scored anyway without really saying much else, its kind of pointless and sounds silly when he does it, but there you go.
Overall this isnt a massive overhaul (but then we havent had one of those for years now anyway), but what it is, is simply an improvment on what was already a great game, and like I said its fantastic.

I don't suppose you can carry over your Pro from last year? I haven't the time to 'grind' up my stats for 20+ hrs to get him decent enough to play online with my regular club mates (who play it all day every day) anymore, I wish they'd just let you import one from older games
i haven't checked out the be a pro part of the game yet, but from what I did see it looked like you had to start a new one. Sorry.

Wow! I managed to get hold of a copy days before all of you! The guy only charged me £50!
Funny thing is, the teams don't seem particularly up-to-date...
£34.99 in Sainsbury's and £39.97 in Tesco if anybody's interested
Very impressed so far. Much better than the demo.
I'm picking the 360 version up after work tonight
Just make sure if you have a gameface from Fifa 10-12 you delete it. Also do not download it for 13 as it freezes the career mode!
Always Goes Down Smooth
Didn't like 12. The demo for this was much better but having purchased PES last week I don't need another footy game. I may borrow this from work when the pre-owned copies start to arrive.
