No first play?
Basically it's a free mod that's been several centuries in developement but updates the original Half Life to the UPDATED Source engine. A labour of love and much much better than the official HL:Source.
I haven't had a huge amount of time on it but for free, it's astonishing. Revisiting the old story again brings back so many fond memories - it's truly an engrossing game and I may find myself playing the whole series again.
MOre impressions when I can but sure many of you have already got it.

Surprised it isn't on Steam... I thought it had been greenlit by Valve?

It has been released as an official torrent. Installed it yesterday. Looks good but my laptop doesn't do it justice perhaps.
To install from scratch first install steam then SDK 2007 then Black Mesa.Last edited by smouty; 16-09-2012 at 02:05 PM.

On first impressions it is a fourteen year old game running on an 8 year old engine. It is a great game but the update whilst good still looks dated.
