I'm wondering if they will seek to make the console and windows ones compatible at all for some game types e.g. turn based.

Skulls of the shogun has cross play with WP8, W8 and XBLA I believe, will no doubt have to buy all versions.
Ascension New Gods, from Toy Soldier developers, also has same features unlocking and transferring content between all versions, including exclusive stuff.
