Gutted to hear this. Sentient, Colony Wars, Rollcage, Wipeout, Overboard, Team Buddies - and that's just on the psx! How could they do this? Dick move, Sony, dick move!

Sad news. Have friends that work there. Hope they can keep putting their great talents to use and find a similar role in the industry soon.

Another classic 32bit studio closes its doors.

I'm really gutted about this, they made some of my favourite Videogames and were the reason for Sony’s success in Europe with the PlayStation.

    RIP Psygnosis.

Rubbish news indeed, hopefully all the Wipeout talent can keep making more wipeout games under a different sony studio.
The new wipeout was the main reason for me getting a Vita.

Their F1 game, essentially a launch title on PS3 was bloody brilliant. Better than Codemasters have managed since. Why on earth have Sony let that kind of talent go to waste? Madness.

Sad news indeed. Loved their games during the 32bit era.

Was gutted to read this today, the most gutting of all the recent studio closures for me.

Gutted, I personally loved Wipeout on vita of late. Sad to see it go was hoping for more content

Best guess I can think of (could be completely wrong) is that the studio was fairly dependent on the Wipeout series. With how long it's been since HD and the slow sales 2048 will have seen thanks to the Vita, Sony opted to cut the overheads. It is a waste though, no idea why they weren't put to task on something else both agreed on.
