RARE Hiring people with experience in the Action/Adventure or FPS genre

"Whilst continual development of their core releases will be maintained, the successful candidate will be joining at a time where the studio is looking to move into new areas and develop new IPs for future platforms"

Sounds very much like they are still doing the Kinect Sports type things, but Microsoft is perhaps making use of them for some other things.

    I can only hope.

The 360 one was a guilty please, I genuinely don't think it was quite as bad as people made out.

The multiplayer was solid, where they messed up was the environments and the terrible inclusion of vehicles. I think vehicles is something every FPS developer needs to take from Halo's book as it is perfection for me. If they do that this time around and make a decent single player experience with co-op they will make a great game. Laptop guns will never get old.

There was a rumour mentioned in Nintendo Gamer this month that Nintendo are negotiating to buy Rare back off Microsoft(!). Almost certainly not true, but stranger things have happened before.

I really hope they don't. Ninty did a good job in replacing them using Retro Studios, with hindsight selling Rare was a really good business move

Especially if you look at what they've produced since being sold. At the time it seemed like the sky had fallen!

To be fair though, I doubt that Ninty would need to pay too much if it ever wanted Rare back.

It'd be a bad buy, now. Unless they bought Crytek at the same time and merged them, then paid a handful of now independents a huge sum of money to come back, effectively re-building the old Rare.

    That would be good.
