Nice idea but then you have to stop using your phone right? This is why I like the Ouya solution but having retro controllers is a plus for them. I bet they wont feel as authentic though.
The iPhone only needs a decent case with manual controls for the hardcore players and itle be the perfect handheld. It already has the best screen around and a powerful processor and gpu, best of both worlds that way, just take the case off when you dont want the extra bulk.
Whatever happened to the iPod/iPhone thing that added a pad/buttons? Did it get made in the end?
You mean the iControlpad?
I guess it's out and it works, but not sure how much support there is for it.
