PS3 backwards compatibility across regions

Hello all, I have a quick question regarding the PS3's backwards compatibility and region free features.

I have a UK Playstation, and a US PS2. If I buy a UK PS3, will I be able to play my older games on it, or does the region unlocking only apply to PS3 games?

PlayStation 3 is region locked for PSX games, but with UK PS3 and PAL games you'll be fine. Unfortunately current PS3 models doesn't support PS2 backwards compatibility.

PS2 titles are also region locked for the PS3s that can play PS2 games.
