I love one of the critic quotes: " Brainy & thoughtful " ... Is that Paris Hilton's review?
Anway, looks interesting. I look forward to watching it.
Really like the premise. I’ll definitely keep my eye on this.

Looks great, although is is too obviously taking its whole look from 2001? Even down to the vertical communications screens. Still, I love space sci-fi that is barely futuristic and not just a fantasy movie set in space.
The poster is genius. I can't remember where I saw it so can't provide a link but it's worth hunting for. Absolutely gorgeous.
looks really interesting, shame its not out for ages according to IMDB

Even the poster looks retro. As I watched the trailer - it was obvious that the creators were inspired by a lot of classic sci-fi.
It's pretty rare to see a sci-fi flick these days. I guess it's because there used to be tons of them, and everything needs a rest at some point. We'll probably see a resurgence of the genre. I hope so.

Anyone seen this yet? I WAS going to see it this weekend but had to bail :( :( :(
Been listening to the soundtrack all week.

I really fancied this but having watched the initial trailer I couldn't help but think they'd spoiled the whole premise / what happens.
I was hoping it wasn't the case but it wouldn't be the first time that's happened.

Really looking forward to watching this and from what I can tell, most of the reviews have been positive.
Shall be going to see it this week I reckon.

Victor Oliver gave it 2/5 on teletext, but then again, he hates everything.

Whens it out? I really want to see it myself, but it isn't showing anywhere near me so far.

Poo. The closet to me is Cardiff and i'm not going to get a train to just see a film. Shame the film is getting a limited release.

I saw this in Cineworld, Cardiff and really enjoyed it. Kind of like Cast Away mixed with Alien mixed with The Island! Sam Rockwell plays Lonely Man well and the film has a very relaxed, chilled out feeling. Quite short as well for the type of film it is.

Sam Rockwell was amazing in this, captivating even. Thought the film overall was nice in a chilled out 70s kind of way, but I'll remember it most for his performance. Up there with The Wrestler for my film of the year...so far...

Haven't seen the film yet, no screenings close by, but I've been making do by listening to the soundtrack on Spotify, and picturing the film in my head. Good stuff. Track 10, Sacrifice, would make great shagging music if it wasn't so long. But, alas, at 3 minutes long, that's crazily impossible.
Hands up who thought Clint Mansell, the former frontman of Pop Will Eat Itself, would grow up to be a film score composing genius.

Good stuff. Track 10, Sacrifice
Love that track, when it kicks in at 2:06 [goosebumps] :D

Watched this last night at my local Cineworld. Thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. Wonderful retro look and pace to it ... great idea behind it ... best sci-fi I've seen in a while. Well done young Mr Bowie.
EDIT: Forgot to mention; loved how the clones came packed with duplicate accessories like the 'wake me up when it's quitting time' tee ... really nice touch ... like action figures :)
Loved the look of the base, how old it was, it was in it's 18th year of cloning, Gerty had developed affinity for Sam and wanted to help him. The space suits were incredibly dirty and the base rotting, Kick me on the back of Gerty. So much to look out for, there were loads of visual references if thats the right word. Saw it at Liverpool FACT, which is brilliant just to take a breather, drink tea, eat cake and watch film.

I thought Moon was ok. The style of the film was definitely refreshing compared to a lot of modern cinema. Sadly, the experience was too slow and uneventful. The lack of overall drama and excitement did grate. The creators went for 'thinking man's' sci-fi, but in the process.. they turned the fun dial down too low.
I'd like to see another film like Moon made, but one that is more gripping and exciting. Psychological drama doesn't have to be so constrained.
I will rate the film 3/5. The lack of dramatic scenes means it's not very rewatchable.

This was a cool flick for sure, though there is a lot more CG in there than appears, infact....an awful lot, even stuff you'd think whats the point in making that out of CG.

Fantastic film I dident find it slow at all as from the offset there is clearly something not quite right with sams situation. This is out on DVD now and is well worth a rent.
I liked the film, but don't get why everyone is gaga over it. Well made, great acting, and it was interesting. But I felt it was very obvious what was going on, there was no real mystery. It's being built up as being as good as 2001 and, frankly, it's not even close.

Thought this was fantastic.
It's quite obvious from very early on what's the basic concept behind the film, but it's the absolutely sublime execution that makes it stand out... and all the wonderfully implemented little touches. Everything about this was magical, and even though i found myself guessing what's going to happen, i was still left with questions and layers of intrigue at the very end.
A wonderful, wonderful film.

Absolutely lovely soundtrack too. I found it to be a very sad film. As you say, it was pretty clear early on what was happening but it became so much more than plot and really brought up questions on just what it is to be alive. A fascinating and captivating movie. I loved it.

Both my wife and I adored the film, the soundtrack was lovely and I feel like the only person in the world who couldn't telegraph every bit of it!
I don't think I'd rewatch it, but it struck me as a film unlike most other films out there, it didn't have any real action moments but that was to it's credit.
Really really enjoyed it! :)

Well to be honest, it was my wife that had the whole thing figured out early on, and not me.

Probably one of my movie highlights from last year. And they did it on a comparatively small budget as well

Completely lost on me this one I'm afraid. Very rarely stop watching a movie before the end, but I bailed with about 20 mins to go. Will watch the rest tonight just for a conclusion. Hasn't really rocked my world though.

I didn't think there meant to be any twists in this. It was just a straight up story - you are meant to figure it out pretty early. Enjoyed it a fair bit - loved the look of the moon surface and stuff. Gravity earth normal indoors though ;)
Sounds wicked Rotten Tomatoes gave high scores as well as the peeps on here. Was nice to see the trailer. A friend at work let me borrow Moon proper stoked about watching it tonight.

I saw it a few weeks ago and thought it was great. I was happy about the lack of twists and surprises, they're done to death in films these days, it's nice to have a film where you can just appreciate a nice straight forward story and some good acting.

Really good film, me and the wife loved it
I went the cinema to watch this with a couple of mates when it first came out last year. Suprisingly my mate gave me his blu ray copy of it to watch a while back, decided to show it to my bro last week, who enjoyed it and was plesantly suprised.......
I luv it how certain movies just come out of the blue and provide an entertaining watch. Its such a breath of fresh air........ They have definately left it open for a potential sequel. But it wouldn't be a bad thing if they left the movie the way it is now.
112 :)
watched this on sky and after all the praise expected a little more.
the story is telegraphed a mile off and very obvious what's going on.
I didn't like the model work, just think it looks a bit shabby now even when compared to well done TV like Battlestar Galactica. Also silly little things grated a bit, like the fact all the heavy metal air-locks were difficult to open and shut in zero-g.
My biggest problem with this though was the seemingly very large plot-hole as to why if we are so technologically advanced as to be mining the moon for 'helium3' what was the need for a person up there at all, seems to me a few more kevin spacey robots could have run the whole thing.
OK but nothing great for me. Preferred Solaris.
