Matrix ML2 PS2 chip

I think this is the one I have.

Anyway, for PSone mode I have to hold the power button down until the PSX logo comes up but some of my games are chip protected. How do I turn off or put the chip into stealth mode? The PS2 is PAL and the games Japanese.

From Standby, press and hold reset button until blue light comes on, then release reset button and press again within two seconds.

That should do it methinks.

you can't do that as only pal protected games would work with the chip off, as jap games wouldn't boot as the chip is obviously turned off
