It's a disgrace really, how much would it cost for Atari to support a website such as this?

I guess it was less an ongoing world ranking table than specifically tied to the hi-score prize challenge that ended a while ago. PAL version users weren't on a level playing field anyway as the chapter one boss in said PAL version had that bug that prevented the charge laser from targeting the boss properly in all but one of his phases. I gather it made an S++ rank on chapter one impossible.

No it didnt make an S++ on ch1 impossible.

The bug hurt you about 30-40k in points.

Considering the top scores were about 34m, 30-40k is not particuarly important.

I dont play the PAL version :D .

Incidentally, it has now been confirmed via email that the netrankings are permanently down.

I am attempting to garner from them the code so that I can put it up on a new website.
