Not sure what to call this thread, but post import only goodness that you have preordered or are looking forward to over the next few months.

I've ordered Eschatos (http://www.play-asia.com/SOap-23-83-c9m-71-br-49-en-84-j-70-44aa.html) from PA. It's a very old school looking shooter. It's going to be region free. I thought there was a release date coming up soon, but now it's tba :(

Might get a pre-order in for Eschatos myself- can't quite decide.
Otherwise, I've got a pre-order in for Akai Katana. I haven't played the PCB but I do have a soft spot for Cave's horis, most notably Progear, which I'm a big fan of.

Nothing major for me at all really Just Akai Katana

At the mo there isn't much tickling my fancy that isnt a shooter.

Quite like the look Eschatos as well so might pick that up but I don't have that much spare cash these days (saving for my Atomiswave Cab) so I'm limiting game purchases to just the shooters I really want & then Gears of War 3, Madden '12 & Fifa '12 later in the year.

Yeah it was pushed back as a result of what happened in Japan. Should hopefully have a new release date soon.

I have a pre-order for Legend of Heroes Trails of the Sky for the PSP, which i'm hoping will be good, but other than that there is nothing else I can think of at the moment.

I think I'll just be going for Akai Katana in the near future but that will probably change when I see what people think of Bullet Soul.

Kinda burned out on all the shooter releases recently, and I haven't even bought the last 2 Cave releases because of that - so nothing on the horizon for me at the moment. Although could AkibaSTrip now I have a PSP.

If by retail form you mean home consoles, yes. If retail form means any non-arcade format, it's out today for PSP and 3DS.

BTW, nothing major for me, aside BBCS2 (both versions). Still undecided about Akai Katana, I still have DDP DFK and other 360 shooters unopened.
Same think for Mamoru PS3 and even Strania (XBLA).

[edit]I have also three books on preorder, the Valkyria Chronicles and Atelier Rorona artbooks from Amazon US and the BBCS2 material guide from AmiAmi

This is a thread for import elistis to show how how much elite they are by list as many Japanese and unknown titles they can, even if they aren't gonna actually buy them. Or will buy after mentioning them to post a pic in the show-off threads.

In which case maybe we should have a different thread...the First Play is basically a review thread by non-writers (and awesome for it) so why not have a Preview thread for Import stuff which includes opinions as to why you are looking forward to said game, what its about, etc? I'd love that. US/PAL stuff gets so rammed down your throat with all the marketing hype, but import titles tend to get overlooked - in my world at least...just a thought.

Oops, badly written sarcasm not getting through :P

A preview thread would be a nice idea if all titles mentioned here wouldn't have their own entry in the Headlines forum.
Of course as long as Importaku doesn't get here and starts posting about obscure DS games that noone except the developers know about :p

Anyway, I think Charles started this thread with the very intention you wrote about, a place where importers can get to know titles they weren't aware of and share their views on them.

LOL, not every DS game i play is unknown just 99% of them :lol: What can i say, i love odd stuff.

And on that note im going to post my preorder for this month, not ds but wii lol. I wasn't aware the Yugioh card game had hit wii till i saw this, looking forward to playing on the wii version, it wasn't cheap but looks great. Also comes with the duel scanner so i can add real cards into the game, just plug it into the wii usb port pop in the card you want to add & shut the door, the game will then read the card & add it into your game.

In fact its showing as being in stock with play-asia right now. :)

Well, these aren't really imports to me but I have on the way - Bullet Soul with OST, Crysis 2 and Otomedious X. I've thought about buying Eschatos but it just looks too cheap to me. If it was a lower price I'd be all over it. Also looking forward to Platinum Soft's Mad World inspired 360 game which is coming soon.

You don't need pictures, comments and so on. All you need is the title. Then you copy and paste that in to Google to find all that you want. That's what I do, anyway :)

I agree. Posting pics or hyperlinks, which can be googled by the original posters, would exponentially benefit the topic's readers. I suppose we could do it ourselves, but imagine the joy of someone stumbling into this thread and seeing a wall of awesomeness.

As evidence, I'd like to cite the "underated" thread on here, with videos and screens. Bloody awesome thread. :)

just found out theres another taiko game coming to the psp. july 14.

i prefer the psp versions over the ds ones. hitting the screen is nice on the easy levels, but as i'm rubbish i revert back to button controls reasonably quickly. no song list yet. but i'll definitely be getting this.

I've got the 360 version of the Love is Over edition of Catherine on pre order. I already have the Japanese version but I love the look of the goodies and I hope it runs on a Japanese machine as it's been confirmed not to work on a PAL machine.

I have the same edition of Catherine en route, albeit for PS3. I really want to pre-order the limited editions of Dark Souls and Disgaea 4 too but can't afford to at the moment. :(

Senran Kagura (3DS) from AmiAmi and the Ar Tonelico artbook (translated by Udon) from Amazon US. September and January 2012 respectively.

Idolm@ster 2...probably. I don't know.
There are more chances I'll buy a Japanese Wii (or mod my spare EU one) to play Osouji Sentai Clean Keeper.

Stopped buying Cave shooters a while ago because too many came out but been getting into PSP rhythm games recently and there's a few I'm looking forward to:

SRWOG2nd on PS3 has been pushed back from September to having no release date, possibly so Banpresto can churn out the 2nd PSP SRW this year, 20th anniversary and all.
